Dr. Sandra Sagrati is Director and Clinical Psychologist of Toronto West Psychology and works with children, adolescents, and adults.

She is a registered member of the College of Psychologists, Canadian Psychological Association, Ontario Psychological Association and Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT). She obtained her Doctoral Degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto and completed internships at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in both the Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre and the Mood Disorders Program. She has also worked at the University Health Network (formerly known as Toronto General Hospital) in the Ambulatory Eating Disorders Day Treatment Program. For over a decade she worked at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (formerly known as the Clarke Institute for Psychiatry) in the CBT Unit and in the Neurochemical Imaging in Mood Disorders Program (PET Centre).

She now works in private practice, and has published numerous research on depression and anxiety and has an interest in the effect of physical activity on mental health.

Her doctoral thesis focused on the relationship between acute physical activity and an individual’s vulnerability to having additional depressive episodes.

Her treatment approach is primarily CBT; however, she has trained in other treatment modalities including but not limited to, Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma and Motivational Interviewing. She provides clinical supervision, lectures and workshops on CBT and mental health related topics to clinicians and the public.

Our Services

Toronto West Psychology provides individual and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Our primary treatment approach is Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which is a first-line treatment for various issues including, but not limited to, depression and anxiety. Other evidence based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy is used for PTSD and trauma related issues. Our assessment of each client provides valuable information that helps us to personalize a treatment plan and to meet the goals of each client.
